PagePark doing port mapping

  • But, as some users have observed, inside corporate networks, sometimes these ports are blocked. Which has meant that Radio3 or Little Pork Chop or Happy Friends might only work at home, not at work. Not a nice side-effect of the diaspora! I wanted to see if I could cure it, and it turns out I can.
  • Here's a web page that's managed by a bit of software running on port 5351. But you can also access the page without the port. That's because my copy of PagePark is mapping port 80 for that domain to 5351. Like many things in Node, it's ridiculously easy because there are already good packages that do most of the standard things servers need to do. That's why Node is so nice. ;-)
  • This feature was released today, in v0.59.
