Liveblog:
BT Sync is a moving, broken target

One of the projects I wanted to do along with
podcatch.com is have a folder with the MP3s of the podcasts we follow, that could be distributed to anyone who wanted it, via
BT Sync.
So I downloaded the latest version of the software, generated a sharing token and sent it to Andrew Shell, a fellow programmer, and asked him to subscribe.
The software said (to Andrew) that it was waiting for approval from someone, probably me, but there was no indication in my software that it was waiting for anything. Further, the idea is that this content would be available to anyone. The MP3s are totally public, there's absolutely no need for permission here. I never told it to ask for permission before allowing a subscription.
We really could use BT Sync, it was a great idea. The first versions of the software worked well. Even if it had a plain user interface, who cares. Once it's set up, you just forget about it. And the new interface is less functional, confusing, and somewhat broken. That's not an improvement!
I'm putting this out there in case there's an interest in getting a project going to create something simple, usable, and suitable for the kind of project I talk about here.
